9 DIFFERENT WAYS TO DRAPE A SAREE

Indian women not only look traditional and elegant in saree  but also sensuous and stylish in this attire.  It is the most graceful and versatile outfit for a women and can be worn in infinite number of ways. Here are some traditional and modern ways to drape a saree that will make you look glamorous......


1.Butterfly style

The Butterfly saree draping style is similar to the basic drape except the pallu is pleated very narrow over the shoulder or sometimes the pallu is pre-stiched in these sarees . It is  worn with a statement blouse with heavy detailings.

2. Pant style 
This is the indo western style of style of wearing a saree. You can wear any legging or jegging or even denims  of your choice instead of wearing those boring petticots. 3. Cowl drape
This  is more of a formal style and is perfectly fit for the evening. You can carry this style with minimal accessories and a stylish corset. Such prestiched cowl drape saree- gowns are available on various online shopping websites.

4.Double Drape 
It  is a blend of traditional and modern style of wearing saree. It makes you look slimmer giving a skirt type drape at the bottom. 

5. Open pallu
 This style is generally worn in north india. In this style the pallu is left open and flowing over the left arm instead of being pleated and pinned so as to cover your midriff and give you a modest look.

6. Lehenga style
This is one of my favourite saree styles. Lehenga sarees are prestiched and can be worn in a minute and hence they are also called 'one minute sarees'. It is a blend of traditional saree and lehenga choli.  This style is best suited for curvaceous body type.

7.  Bengali style
 The traditional Bengali style highlights the pallu of the saree. Light weight cotton sarees  with puff sleeves blouse are ideal for this drape. You can always accesorize your bengali saree by hanging the key ring  to one corner of the pallu and putting a big red bindi on your forehead.

8. Gujarati Style 
 This style is  similar to the basic drape except for the pallu is brought over the right shoulder towards the front. Sarees having a heavy border or a beautiful work over the pallu are best suited for this drape.

9. Bollywood style
Bollywood has always been a trendsetter when it comes to style & fashion. From yesteryear's Mumtaz to desi girl Priyanka, our Bollywood divas looked the most beautiful in saree. Women with a well toned body looks the best in this style . Generally short length or noodle strap blouses are worn in this style to flaunt the hourglass shape of the body.
